Michael Stone

Michael Stone is a Managing Partner of Whitney & Co., LLC, a diversified alternative asset management firm with $5 billion in assets under management and principal activities in private equity, hedge funds and mezzanine lending.
Mr. Stone oversees all the firm's hedge funds as Chairman of J.H. Whitney Investment Management, LLC; chairs their investment committees; and is on the investment committees for all of Whitney's other investing activities.
He is a director of several public and private companies, and is Chairman of Lynx Outdoor Grills, a manufacturer and marketer of luxury outdoor grills; Chairman of TBA Entertainment, a provider of corporate entertainment services; and Vice Chairman of STR, a diversified provider of testing services and manufacturer of specialty solar products. Additionally, Mr. Stone is very active in renewable energy, including wind and ethanol.
Mr. Stone grew up in Connecticut, and relocated to San Diego in early 2004. He attended Duke University and Harvard Business School. He is a member of YPO and on the Board of The Jenna Druck Foundation.
