2013 Fall Retreat
Against the stunning backdrop of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, the 2013 EGA retreat will provide attendees an opportunity to connect with colleagues in a meaningful and unique location. Covering topics including climate change, clean water, community health, and food and agriculture, this year’s retreat will explore solutions that incorporate the voices of people most affected by environmental issues.
At the local level, we will discuss how Gulf Coast tourism, fishing, shipping and energy industries continue to reel from the devastation following Hurricane Katrina and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. We will also explore the parallels between Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Katrina, and the role philanthropy has played with each. Keynote Speaker and Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson will be on hand to provide a global perspective, with a focus on climate justice.
