Giving: Caring for the Needs of Strangers
Join us for a three-day public conference at which scholars, policymakers, and philanthropists examine the religious and philosophical grounds for giving, the psychology and evolution of altruism, the relationship between democracy and philanthropy, the effectiveness of various philanthropic platforms, ways social media and philanthrocapitalism are changing the field, and the future of global philanthropy. The keynote address is delivered by Deogratias (Deo) Niyizonkiza, founder and director of Village Health Works and the subject of Tracy Kidder’s book Strength in What Remains, on Thursday, December 6, at 6:00 p.m. Pulitzer Prize–winning author Tracy Kidder moderates.
