Fairfield, Conn. – September 10, 2008 – Foundation Source, the nation’s leading provider of support services for private foundations, today announced that Page Snow, Senior Vice President of Client Services, has been promoted to the new position of Chief Philanthropic Officer. In her new role, Ms. Snow is responsible for developing Foundation Source’s philanthropic services strategy and overseeing the advisory team that delivers these services to the company’s 800+ private foundation clients.
Ms. Snow’s deep philanthropic background makes her uniquely qualified to fill this new position and develop its scope. Prior to joining Foundation Source in 2002, Ms. Snow spent over 10 years with The Pew Charitable Trusts, at the time one of the nation’s top 10 foundations with assets of $4 billion and annual grant commitments of over $200 million. As the Trust’s Chief Officer of Institutional Planning, she helped design, evaluate and remodel key operations of the foundation in support of the Trusts’ model of results-based grantmaking. She also served as the trust’s external liaison to major national and international foundations, and developed expertise in strategic planning, program design and evaluating multi-million dollar grant investments. Ms. Snow’s experience also includes work with many prestigious philanthropic organizations, including the Center for Effective Philanthropy, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
As Foundation Source rapidly approaches 1,000 private foundations, with a collective endowment of $4.0 billion, we have noted a consistent trend toward deeper philanthropic relationships with our clients and their families, said Daniel M. Schley, Foundation Source Executive Chairman. “In response, we have greatly expanded our philanthropic services offering, hired more experienced Private Client Advisors, and launched Foundation Source Advisors to assist in helping our clients define and achieve their philanthropic mission. Creating of the position Chief Philanthropic Officer was a logical evolution for our company and our client base. With her background in philanthropy and years of experience running our company’s Client Services Group, Page was the natural choice to assume this key leadership role.
In addition to serving as the company’s Chief Philanthropic Officer, Ms. Snow will continue in her current role as Senior Vice President of Client Services and member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Reflecting on her expanded responsibilities, Ms. Snow added, “One of the significant shifts in philanthropy I’ve seen over the past 10 years is the desire among donors to roll up their sleeves and get directly involved in the causes they care about, which is one factor precipitating the recent explosive growth of private foundations. My vision is to provide a comprehensive continuum of philanthropic services that help clients evolve their foundations as their needs change, from ‘learning the ropes’ to charting new waters.
